Gemma and James were married at Crondon Park, Stock. A beautiful wedding venue not far from Chelmsford in Essex. Bridal preparations took place in the bridal suite at Crondon Park, which is a fairly recent addition to this popular Essex wedding venue. However, before that, I made time to catch up with James and the groomsmen as they prepared for the big day a few miles away at the Harvard Hotel in Stock. At the hotel I was joined by Matthew from 3 Cheers Media who was there to video the wedding day.
With some photographs of the men getting ready, the wedding rings and buttonholes etc, it was onto Crondon Park to capture the girls. Over the years I have photographed a lot of weddings at Crondon Park, so I know it really well. It’s a fantastic wedding venue with some lovely backdrops for wedding photographs both inside and out. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming, and the food is excellent!
During the wedding ceremony James got quite emotional and Gemma too could also be seen wiping the odd tear away from her eyes. After the ceremony the heavens opened up so we started to do the formal photographs inside only for the sun to come out again just as I started. For some unknown reason this was one of three weddings I photographed at Crondon Park in 2019, and all three had experienced some rain and showers. However, nothing could dampen the spirits of all who attended, and we had a great day dodging the showers and indeed, some real downpours.
With all the formals out of the way it was time for a few shots with the bride and groom alone during a quite sunny period, which was great! Gemma and James are a lovely couple and it was a pleasure to photograph their wedding day and meet all their family and friends.
I must make a special mention about Gemma and Jame’s choreographed first dance, which was a little special and great fun to watch.
